Ernest

Ernest was happily living with his best friend, enjoying a good life. But when his friend died, Ernest was heartbroken and struggling with his grief.

Not only did he have to deal with the loss of his best friend and the feelings of being alone, but Ernest suddenly found himself with no place to live.

Thankfully, his friend’s son knew about Bread of Life Mission and recommended Ernest come here to get back on his feet.

“Before my best friend died, he told his son to make sure I had a place to stay.”

When Ernest got here, he was overwhelmed by the love and support he felt from the staff and other guests. He was able to start healing from his grief and focus on making plans for his future.

“I hope people will support the Mission because there’s lots of people that really need help.”

During his time at the Mission in our Life Change Recovery Program, Ernest has learned valuable skills and the joy of serving others.

“I make sack lunches and work in the kitchen a little,” he says.

He is grateful for the chance to evaluate his options and determine the best way to move forward.

“I’m thankful to the Mission because they gave me a place to stay, get cleaned up and take showers,” Ernest says with a smile.

While he is thankful for the love and care he has received here, we are glad to share this news: Ernest has successfully achieved his goal to get back to independent living and has found a place of his own!

Thank you for your love and support of neighbors like Ernest. Your kindness has reminded him that he is not alone and that a better life is possible!

“My biggest challenge before coming to the Mission was just living. Now I’ve made good friends and I’m thankful.”
